Role Description: This is a Security Guard Position at a mining site 15 minutes away from Redwater, AB. Ideally candidates will live close to Edmonton or Fort Saskatchewan. The position is a full-time, temporary, night shift position initially with the potential to be a full time permanent position. Competitive wage and benefits for permanent full time employees. This role is responsible for monitoring premises, conducting regular patrols and ensuring the safety and security of employees and property. Day-to-day tasks include managing access control points, checking buildings and equipment, responding to alarms or security incidents in accordance with established procedures. The Security Officer will document incidents by proving a clear and concise report which will be communicated to other members of the team and external emergency services when necessary. Additional responsibilities include overseeing security systems (such as CCTV, remote cameras and calls for security alarms in office building), assisting with policy compliance to maintain a secure scene. We are seeking individuals that possess: Strong observational skills and situational awareness. The ability to assess risk is vital. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions promptly and follow established security protocols. Physical ability to stand, walk and conduct regular patrols and to respond to emergencies as required. Familiarity with security systems and tools (e.g. CCTV, access control systems, alarm monitoring) is an asset. Integrity and professionalism. Confidentiality and ethical conduct will always be adhered to without exception. Three to five years of experience in the security industry is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; additional security certifications or training are considered an advantage. Availability to work night shift.
