Summary: The Supervisor, Floor is responsible for preparing work schedules, delegating tasks, and monitoring employee performance to ensure productivity and maximum efficiency. This job requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Duties: Available to work a varied work schedule over 7 days a week Sorting newspapers/parcels for delivery Working with a team to unload and load trucks/trailers Responsible for managing direct reports Coaching, directing and supervising staff Reading manifests and ensuring the correct product gets to the correct Contractor Clean up and other cleaning duties as required Responsible for Health & Safety, Warehouse H&S Lead Cover for the Operations Supervisor as required Operate a forklift and a pallet jack in a safe and responsible manner when required Help organize loading and unloading Responsible for filling out BOLs before truck departures Ensure the facility is clear of debris throughout the shift Daily usage of emails and Microsoft Office tools Assist with scanning, sorting of packages Assist in setting up the floor plan daily for the next day’s sort All other duties as required Qualifications: Prior experience working in a warehouse environment, with working knowledge of logistics, trucking and loading requirements would be an asset Forklift Certification / Experience At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred Demonstrated ability to work in a deadline driven environment, with a focus on safety and quality control Be resourceful, adaptable to change, work well under pressure. Time management skills Reliable transportation Proficient in spoken and written English Able to communicate effectively in often-noisy surroundings Heavy lifting - Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs Responsible for proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times: Safety Vest-CSA Approved footwear (Steel toe boots/shoes) Compensation: Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.
