POSITION Accountant LOCATION Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid) REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS As part of Potentia’s Finance team, this position reports to the Accounting Manager and has no direct reports. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY FUNCTIONS The Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting and reporting. Role & Responsibilities: Perform full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of entities, including preparing journal entries, routine transactions, and monthly financial results; Book routine transactions such as bank entries, accounts receivable, prepaids and accrued liabilities, revenue, OPEX, and loan and financing fees; Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned; Analyze financial information and summarize financial status on a monthly basis; Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packages, including variance analysis; Assist with annual budget preparation, contributing specific line items in coordination with the finance team; Ensure the timely and accurate filing and remittance of indirect tax (HST/GST) matters; Support year-end close and external audit requirements; Ensure all deadlines are met and activities are carried out in an efficient, effective, and integrated manner, working with business units and other areas of finance; Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation in progress; Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applicable laws and regulations; Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system is considered an asset; Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Experience in the renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sector is considered an asset. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 2–4 years of experience as an accountant performing general ledger and financial reporting functions. COMPENSATION Base salary range: $60,000 to $75,000 CAD, commensurate with experience. Target annual bonus: 10% of base salary. Compensation will vary depending on experience and qualifications.
