Job summary

Position: Group Benefits Consultant Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Pay: 85k base + commission + benefits Position Overview: Our client who is a growing advisory firm is seeking to hire a Group Benefits Consultant to lead the continued growth and operational excellence of their Group Benefits division. The ideal candidate combines deep group benefits expertise with strong relationship management, operational discipline, and a growth-oriented mindset. This role is highly hands-on and will initially focus on execution, client advisory, and process development, while providing a clear pathway toward broader strategic leadership responsibilities. What will you be doing? Drive execution of growth initiatives across the Group Benefits portfolio. Generate new business opportunities through referrals, client relationships, and marketing channels. Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, partnerships, administrative hiring, and potential M&A opportunities. Monitor and improve key performance metrics including revenue growth, retention, profitability, and client outcomes. Serve as a trusted advisor on complex group benefits matters, renewals, and plan design strategies. Develop innovative benefits solutions that optimize client value while managing costs. Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key client stakeholders. Establish and strengthen relationships with insurance carriers and strategic partners. Negotiate pricing, plan design enhancements, and renewal terms. Evaluate emerging carrier solutions, products, and industry offerings. Monitor carrier performance and service delivery standards. Maintain strong client relationships and achieve retention targets across the portfolio. Ensure all client profiles and records remain current and compliant. Oversee onboarding, quarterly reporting, renewal communications, and documentation standards. Lead renewal processes, including market reviews, pricing negotiations, and client presentations. Ensure all client activities and interactions are accurately maintained within Zoho CRM (AdvisorIQ). Drive adherence to established sales, service, and documentation standards. Support servicing activities when required and continuously improve workflows and operational efficiency. Lead monthly sales and performance review meetings using KPI dashboards and reporting metrics. Must haves: Must have Active Life & Accident/Sickness Insurance License. 3+ years of progressive experience in Group Benefits within a brokerage, insurance carrier, consulting, or advisory environment. Strong technical knowledge of group benefits, renewals, plan design, pricing, and carrier management. Experience using CRM systems and maintaining disciplined client records. .

Requirements
