The Clinical Educator is responsible for the research, development, and implementation of educational programming for the Renal Program. They provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff while incorporating best practice research into policy and education delivery.

Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing Eligible for active practicing licensure as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with applicable regulatory body in the province of Manitoba Successful completion of the Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course Three (3) years experience in a Renal Program within the last five (5) years Comprehensive knowledge of Manitoba Renal Program policies and procedures Three (3) years within the past five (5) years experience in an education/teaching role preferred Education and experience in the research, development, implementation and evaluation of educational programming Education and knowledge of adult learning principles Nursing leadership skills and the ability to provide leadership/mentorship in a changing environment Ability to interpret and utilize best practice research data and to incorporate this information into policy development and education delivery Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training, as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position Demonstrated communication skills Ability to respect and promote confidentiality Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, active RN/RPN licensure in Manitoba, and completion of the Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course. Candidates must have at least three years of experience in a Renal Program within the last five years.
