Qualifications Grade 12 education (MB Standards) 1 year experience working within a computerized inventory control system involving receiving, shipping, storage and distribution of supplies Other combinations of education and experience may be considered Thorough understanding of inventory management processes, including stock rotations Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position Demonstrated communication skills Ability to respect and promote confidentiality Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team Position Summary Under the direction of the Area Manager of Materiels Management, the Stores Clerk performs functions and duties designed to facilitate the receiving, shipping, control, storage, pick-up, delivery and issuing of goods to and from the Materiels Management Department. Responsibilities Overview: Receives, inspects, verifies and accepts or rejects all supplies and equipment delivered to the Materiels Management Department. Accurately prepares and processes all inventory documentation concerned with the storage and distribution of supplies including receipts, receiving reports, stock issue requisitions, return-to-stock credits, returns to vendors. Replenishes stock for departments/facilities from supply requisitions on a regular basis. Keeps accurate records of all transactions. Provides good communications with the Area Manager of Materiels Management in regard to all activities assigned (i.e. low supply levels, shipping and vendor errors, etc.). Coordinates the delivery and distribution of goods according to departmental schedules. Perform all duties related to the pick up and delivery of mail, parcels and supplies to the various facilities. Deliver and oversee bank deposits and petty cash transactions. Operate postage machine for outgoing mail and parcels. Perform duties such as copying and packaging to assist with distribution. Performs monthly checks for expired products in the Materiels Management Department and on the nursing wards at the hospital. With the approval of the Area Manager makes non-stock purchases when required. Laminate various information/forms/pictures as needed. Deal with requests from departments/facilities on an emergency basis. Participate in inventory counts. Follow policy and procedure set out for the Materiels Management Department and Prairie Mountain Health. Other duties as assigned.
