Job Summary Prep Academy Tutors is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide one-on-one tutoring and academic support to students in the Downtown Toronto area. As a Special Education Tutor, you will work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, creating individualized learning strategies that build confidence, independence, and academic success. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with exceptionalities and helping them reach their full potential in a personalized learning environment. Responsibilities Provide individualized academic support based on student learning profiles, strengths, and needs. Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and exceptionalities. Develop and implement personalized learning strategies aligned with the Ontario curriculum. Provide remedial support, skill-building activities, and enrichment opportunities where appropriate. Foster student confidence, engagement, and self-advocacy skills. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and recommendations. Maintain professional records of tutoring sessions and student achievements. Qualifications and Skills We are looking for teachers or soon-to-be teachers who meet the following criteria: Experience working with students with special education needs, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other exceptionalities. Energetic, patient, and enthusiastic educators with strong instructional skills. Committed to providing exceptional service to students and families. Ability to create engaging, individualized learning experiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for helping students develop both academically and personally. Be qualified to teach in a Canadian province or territory outside of Ontario. Be a current teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree. Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian university or college. Preferred Qualifications Special Education Part 1, Part 2, or Specialist Additional Qualification (AQ). Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Experience supporting students in elementary and/or secondary school settings.

Requirements
Candidates must be certified teachers, current Bachelor of Education students, or qualified instructors with experience in special education. Preferred qualifications include Special Education Additional Qualifications (AQ) and experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
