That’s why we hire individuals who bring both strong skills and the right fit for our team. We are seeking a contract Investigator based in the Edmonton area to join our Litigation Department. This unique field-based role involves meeting prospective clients throughout the community, gathering information related to potential personal injury claims, obtaining required documentation, and supporting the early stages of case development. Acting as one of the first representatives of the firm that clients meet in person, you will build trust with individuals who may be experiencing difficult circumstances while ensuring accurate information is collected and documented. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys independent work, connecting with people, and spending time in the field rather than behind a desk. Key Responsibilities Build rapport quickly with prospective clients through in-person meetings Travel throughout the Edmonton area to client homes, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other off-site locations as required Conduct intake meetings, gather relevant information, and support the early stages of case development Perform field-based investigative activities, including collecting statements, documenting details, and assisting with early-stage case assessments Sign up clients within the local area as needed Ensure retainers, authorizations, and other required documentation are completed accurately Accurately document client information and maintain organized records Represent the firm professionally and compassionately while serving as a trusted point of contact for clients Communicate effectively with legal staff regarding information gathered during meetings and investigations Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Experience in law enforcement, investigations, police services, social work, victim services, healthcare, insurance, claims adjustment, or a related field is considered an asset Experience working with vulnerable populations Valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle Willingness and ability to travel locally throughout the Edmonton area as required Strong communication skills with the ability to gather information from emotionally distressed individuals Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities A compassionate and professional approach when working with individuals experiencing difficult or traumatic situations Work Arrangement & Schedule Contract position, engaged on an as-needed basis Primarily Monday to Friday during regular business hours Flexibility to attend in-person client meetings during evenings or weekends, as required Remote role with travel throughout the Edmonton area required Why Join Preszler Injury Lawyers?
