About this Position We are currently looking for a Translator to join our Translation team. This posting reflects an existing vacancy within the organization. Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 Responsibilities and Qualifications Responsibilities: Translates documents, correspondence and other material from English to French (90%) or French to English (10%) Ensures that messages are transferred from one language to the other in a way that ensures language accuracy Particular emphasis on documents pertaining to Life Insurance and Mutual Fund Investment products and may include legal documents, marketing materials, internal communications, management reports, presentations and client correspondence Translates software as required for projects Revision of documents translated externally and internally Other duties as may be assigned Performance Expectations Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision but also amenable to direction and guidance Ability to work in a high paced, high volume environment with changing priorities and short deadlines Will be expected to manage several assignments and priorities at once Ensure consistency in terminology used across documents Detail oriented Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in translation or equivalent of knowledge and skills acquired through related work experience Superior verbal and written communication skills in English and French A demonstrated knowledge of technical terminology used in the Life Insurance and Mutual Fund industries will be considered an asset Member of a registered professional translation organization (in Ontario: ATIO; in Quebec: OTTIAQ) will be considered an asset Strong computer competency; Must be proficient in MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint) Familiar with terminological databases (Termium Plus, Grand dictionnaire terminologique, etc.) Strong customer service skills; a demonstrated ability to work with others in a professional manner It has been and will continue to be the policy of Primerica, Inc., and its subsidiaries to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
