Job summary

Sales Growth Lead – Canadian Food & Agribusiness MQED is seeking a high-performing Sales Growth Lead to expand our commercial footprint across the Canadian food and agribusiness sectors. Salary: $70,000-$90,000 + commissions up to 5% | OTE for year 1: $115,000 – $140,000 + Hours: 9am - 5pm 50% in office, 50% on road Vacation: 3 weeks vacation Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision – 80/20 About the Role We are looking for a commercially driven sales professional who understands the unique landscape of Canadian agriculture, food production, and supply chains. As our Sales Growth Lead, you will drive revenue by identifying strategic market opportunities and nurturing long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders. You will act as a vital link between MQED and our network of distributors, retailers, manufacturers, and strategic partners to accelerate sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities Market Expansion: Identify and capture new business opportunities across Canadian retail, foodservice, wholesale, and distribution channels. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with grocery retailers, distributors, ag-food manufacturers, and key accounts. Strategic Sales: Develop and execute high-impact sales strategies to increase market share, revenue, and customer acquisition. Category Growth: Secure new product placements and identify category expansion opportunities within new and existing accounts. Commercial Negotiations: Lead negotiations, construct competitive proposals, and successfully close new business deals. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding, successful product launches, and continuous account support. Market Intelligence: Monitor agribusiness trends, competitor movements, and emerging market needs to keep MQED ahead of the curve. Reporting & Insights: Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic market insights to senior leadership. Industry Representation: Serve as the face of MQED at major agriculture trade shows, industry events, and client summits. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field. Experience: 5 to 7+ years of proven business development or key account management experience within agriculture, agribusiness, or food production. Track Record: Demonstrated success in commercial business development, revenue generation, and pipeline management. Executive Presence: Experience collaborating with senior executives, cross-functional leadership, and major ag-industry stakeholders. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of government funding programs and agricultural grant opportunities is highly valued. Core Skills: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities paired with a strategic mindset. Drive: Self-motivated and results-oriented professional capable of managing multiple corporate priorities. Travel: Willingness to travel across Canada and the US as required to meet clients and attend events. Logistics: Valid passport, clean criminal record check, and the ability to work full-time from our office when not traveling for client meetings.
