Job summary

Our innovative client, with over 50 years in food and seafood manufacturing and trading, is looking for a full-time Controller to join their Montreal head office. The role will focus on managing financial statements, day-to-day accounting, and auditing, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a stable environment and wants to make a direct impact. Responsibilities Manage corporate accounts and report directly to the President. Prepare financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and cash flows, with an emphasis on profitability and financial stability. Analyze monthly financial performance, track variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee A/R, A/P, payroll, group insurance, and tax filings, ensuring compliance. Implement cost accounting systems and improve project profitability. Coordinate with a team of 6-9 people in the accounting department, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. Handle costing analysis and support strategic financial decision-making. Ensure consistent communication with the President and plant management. Food manufacturing background preferred (food transformation experience is considered an asset). Requirements CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing (food transformation experience is a plus). Strong expertise in budgeting, reporting, costing analysis, and compliance. Proficient in computerized accounting systems, especially Sage 300. Proactive leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team of accounting professionals. Bilingual preferred (French and English) Strong communication skills, both in reporting to the President and collaborating with the team.
