Pipefitter (Apprentice/Journeyman)

We are currently seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB. Key Responsibilities: Journeyman and Apprentices: * Lays out, assembles, fabricates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems * Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements * Selects type and size of pipe required * Measures, cuts, and threads pipe to required shape using hand and power tools * Tack, welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system * Installs supports, valves, piping, and control systems * Tests system for leaks using testing equipment * Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems * Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems Apprentice-specific: * Listen and be receptive to instructions and work to achieve set goals, action plans and timelines for project completion. * Apply knowledge and skills learned from coaches and mentors to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program. Qualifications: Journeyman-level: * Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document. * Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred. * 1-2 years of directly related work experience. * This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
