We are currently seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB. We offer day, evening and weekend day shifts with excellent premiums for evening and weekend day shifts. Key Responsibilities: Journeyman and Apprentices: * Lays out, assembles, fabricates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems * Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements * Selects type and size of pipe required * Measures, cuts, and threads pipe to required shape using hand and power tools * Tack, welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system * Installs supports, valves, piping, and control systems * Tests system for leaks using testing equipment * Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems * Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems Apprentice-specific: * Listen and be receptive to instructions and work to achieve set goals, action plans and timelines for project completion. * Apply knowledge and skills learned from coaches and mentors to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program. Qualifications: Journeyman-level: * Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document. * Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred. * 1-2 years of directly related work experience. * This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices. Apprentice-level: * Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or * Be a registered apprentice. * Motivated and willing to learn. **As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
