POSTING: Casual housekeeper STATUS: Casual CLASSIFICATION: Housekeeping Aide (11001) WORK AREA: Central City Lodge / Cooper Place EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD HOURS: As Required. SALARY: Grid 10 / $25.82 hourly JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Manager, Support Services or delegate, this position cleans and maintains assigned areas in the facility to required housekeeping standards by performing light and heavy cleaning duties. QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and Abilities • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Ability to deal with others effectively. • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Ability to organize work. DUTIES May perform any or all the following functions: 1. Cleans and disinfects areas throughout the facility such as carpets, floors, stairways, walls and windows using methods that include wet mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing and polishing, by hand or using power equipment. 2. Cleans and spot cleans fixtures, ceilings, vents, blinds, window frames and ledges, and other areas throughout the facility using methods such as sweeping, washing, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming. 3. High dusts or vacuums pipes, lights, ventilators, as required using step ladders where necessary. 4. Cleans resident rooms including stripping and making beds; cleaning furniture and tidying areas such as cupboards and tables; removing refuse; and cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and fixtures. 5. Collects and removes soiled linen from rooms and dispatches to soiled collection area for transport to the laundry. Replaces soiled bedside curtains as directed. 6. Replenishes soap dispensers and paper supplies. 7. Reports any necessary maintenance problems to appropriate personnel. 8. Performs other related duties as assigned. This posting will remain open until successfully filled.

Requirements
