Duties and Responsibilities: * Liaise with the Traffic Department regarding loads for various routes and flight segments * Liaise with the Manager of Flight Dispatch to maintain dispatch standard operating procedures; * Perform Operational Flight Watch to determine if changes to operational and meteorological conditions may affect the safety of flights, track current flights, and brief pilot in command on changes where necessary; * Develop, review, authorize, issue and revise, as required, the Operational Flight Plan for all flights in keeping with safety, regulatory and operational requirements and ensure on day of flight, that the Flight Dispatch function performs safe and efficient operational control in accordance with all Canadian and foreign governmental rules and regulations, company flight operating manuals and operational policies and procedures; * Responsible to complete, audit and retain flight documentation from all bases; * Initiate and coordinate airport handling to offline airports are required; * Authorize the release of an aircraft to operate in accordance with the terms and conditions established by the Operational Flight Plan; * When requested, or deemed necessary, provide the Pilot-in-Command with a thorough and professional flight crew briefing; * Initiate accident alarm procedures and assess and issue Flight Incident Category Reports as required; * Provide crew scheduling functions as required; * Provide direction to stations on passenger and other payload movements in the event of irregular operations; * In cooperation with commercial operations determine and initiate an alternate plan of operating during irregular operations to minimize the inconvenience to our customers and safety requirements; * Any other related duties. Qualifications: * Must have demonstrated ability for quick thinking, sound judgment, and adaptability; * Proven ability to work under pressure; * Ability to receive and apply performance feedback; * Strong written and verbal communications skills; * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; * Currently hold a Type B dispatch license or have successfully written the Transport Canada dispatch generic exams are an asset, but it is not a prerequisite; * Currently holding an Industry Canada Restricted Radio certificate would be an asset. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Holding a Type B dispatch license or having written Transport Canada dispatch generic exams is considered an asset.
