The Project Coordinator, Health Promotion is responsible for researching, coordinating, implementing, maintaining, marketing and providing critical feedback on the evaluation of the Health Promotion program to enhance the physical and mental health of Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) employees. The Project Coordinator, Health Promotion provides input into the development of the overall goals, objectives and operations of the Health Promotion program within Workplace Health by providing feedback and recommendations to the Team Lead, Employee Health Services. Duties/Accountabilities Researches, coordinates, promotes, develops and implements a variety of activities focused on building a healthy workplace to improve the mental and physical health of PHSA employees including programs such as onsite fitness classes, online and in-person workshops, pocket markets and other health events. Participates in the selection of external wellness service providers and maintains positive working relationships with said contractors. As a program content expert, the Associate is responsible for preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, assessing and responding to the needs of clients and ensuring the timely resolution of problems and disputes between clients and contractors. Compiles, analyzes and maintains statistical data for measurement of employee participation and health improvements based on health promotion activities. Evaluates the effectiveness of programs. Administers the Health Promotion site and related pages on the PHSA intranet and phsa.ca and manages the online education course calendar for sponsored courses. Adheres to program budget. Provides project support and recommendations for the Health Promotion Framework that guides the development, enhancement and sustainability of health promotion at PHSA. Is able to meet the needs of PHSA’s Agencies by responding to different priorities. Works collaboratively with and working with internal and external stakeholders to develop, promote and implement various mental and physical health initiatives for PHSA employees. Acts as contact person providing information and materials to staff at all levels, unions and other external stakeholders. Qualifications A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree in a health-related discipline or relevant field plus two (2) years of experience related to health promotion activities. Knowledge of health and wellness issues found in a healthcare environment and an understanding of the impact a healthy workplace and life style has on work performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft proposals and make formal presentations. Project management skills and experience are necessary. Strong organization skills, flexible to changing priorities and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be goal- and detailed-oriented. Highly developed critical thinking and problem solving skills. Communication on health promotion programs requires the incumbent to be creative and positive in presentation of subject material and methods used to reach target audiences. Requirements
