Job summary

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the day to day accounting for our office in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. This is a hands on, full cycle role reporting directly to the President. You will be responsible for keeping our books accurate and up to date, supporting payroll, remittances, and month end close. Key Responsibilities Full cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable Bank and credit card reconciliations Payroll processing and related remittances GST/PST filings and other government remittances Month end close support, including journal entries and account reconciliations Maintaining accurate records in our Quickbooks online accounting system. Preparing routine financial reports and summaries as requested General office accounting administration and support Qualifications 3 to 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a small to mid sized business with associated companies Proven experience accurately processing intercompany transactions Proven experience handling foreign currency transactions Experience administering payroll for a mid-sized organization Completion of, or near completion of, the CPA program is considered an asset Comfortable working independently and owning the day to day accounting function Strong Excel skills Experience with an accounting or ERP system (Samco experience an asset, not required) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Clear, professional written and verbal communication
