Summary The Operations Manager – HVAC Division oversees all day‑to‑day operations of Patrick Sprack Limited’s HVAC business unit, ensuring that service work, maintenance programs, equipment replacements, and HVAC construction projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and in full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards. This role provides leadership to HVAC field and office teams, coordinates labour and equipment resources, maintains strong client relationships, and drives operational excellence, efficiency, and divisional growth. The Operations Manager acts as a primary point of contact for clients, internal stakeholders, and project teams, ensuring consistent communication and performance across all HVAC activities. Responsibilities & Duties Oversee and coordinate HVAC service operations, preventive maintenance, equipment replacements, and mechanical scopes within construction projects. Monitor schedules, labour allocation, equipment needs, and project progress to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Identify operational risks, issues, and bottlenecks; implement corrective actions as required. Support estimating with pipeline updates, forecasting, and upcoming HVAC project opportunities. Assist with pricing, closing, negotiating HVAC scopes, and supporting bid submissions. Ensure compliance with TSSA regulations, mechanical codes, OHSA, and project contractual requirements. Review and approve HVAC timesheets, job entries, and operational documentation. Participate in bid reviews, workload planning meetings, and divisional forecasting. Business Development & Client Management Maintain strong client relationships with facility managers, property managers, general contractors, and commercial/industrial clients. Ensure a consistent flow of HVAC service and project opportunities to support the estimating team. Provide client support before, during, and after project execution to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Represent Patrick Sprack Limited professionally at client meetings, site visits, and industry-related functions. Workforce Management Oversee HVAC field and office teams including technicians, installers, apprentices, and administrative personnel. Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management initiatives. Address workforce concerns in collaboration with HR and act as a key support resource for HVAC staff. Manage wage recommendations, payroll concerns, and scheduling. Coordinate HVAC equipment, vehicle, and tool allocation to maximize utilization and efficiency. Financial & Operational Performance Monitor HVAC budgets, job costs, margins, labour efficiency, and divisional KPIs. Approve purchase orders, progress claims, change orders, and invoicing documentation. Support financial reporting, forecasting, and continuous improvement projects. Provide operational input into the annual budgeting process and resource planning. Process & Continuous Improvement Develop, implement, and standardize operating procedures for HVAC service and construction workflows. Promote the adoption of digital tools and field management systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities to improve safety, labour utilization, communication, and quality. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client experience and operational performance. Requires Knowledge & Awareness of Following Tasks HVAC systems, service diagnostics, and equipment installation practices. TSSA regulations, mechanical codes, permitting, and inspection requirements. Estimating and HVAC project award negotiation. Client relationship management and business development. Subcontractor coordination and vendor management. Labour forecasting, crew scheduling, vehicle fleet and equipment allocation. Job costing, financial reporting, margin analysis, and efficiency tracking. OHSA, WSIB, ESA, and PSL‑specific safety protocols. HVAC project scheduling, scope coordination, and milestone tracking. Contract administration, change order review, and documentation. Timesheet, work order, and field reporting systems. Education, Training Certificates and Registrations Diploma or Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent. 7–10+ years of progressive HVAC industry experience; 3+ years in a leadership or management role preferred. Valid G‑Class driver’s licence. Gas Technician License (G1) is considered a strong asset. 313A or 313D Refrigeration licence considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and HVAC management software platforms. Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year Benefits: Dental care Life insurance RRSP match Vision care Work Location: In person
