Pay Rate: $19.28/hour when working the Sorter shift $21.84/hour when working the Courier shift Location: 48 Hatheway Cres, Saint John, NB Description Courier: The Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. Sorter: The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.Responsibilities Courier: Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR) Sorter: Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery Education Completion of High School Completion of specific vocational courses Valid Class 5 driver’s license Experience 3 years of driving experience and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
