Role & Responsibilities The Assistant Manager ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day operations for the hotel restaurant and special events, including banquets. Supervise staff and ensure that customer expectations are exceeded at all times Keep the food and beverage areas clean and maintain exemplary food hygiene practices Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff Assist with inventory management; oversee proper unpacking of weekly orders, ensuring storage locations are neat and tidy at all times and part of the monthly counting ensuring accuracy and attention to detail Able to address customer complaints or issues, and resolve matters as expediently as possible Oversee food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes Assist with cocktail creation and menu development. Lead and execute weddings, conferences and signature events; ensure that no detail is missed and the event is delivered flawlessly Daily billing and financial responsibilities to be completed accurately and efficiently A leader in daily communication on guest feedback, employee performance and notes from the days shift Required Skills & Qualifications Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Basic computer skills Highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time Strong proven leadership qualities and management skills Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is a strong asset 2 years' in a hotel or restaurant industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position Working knowledge of MICROS or similar P.O.S. system is an asset Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits This is a salaried role. Requirements

Candidates need at least 2 years of experience in the hotel or restaurant industry, including 1 year in a supervisory role. A degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management is a strong asset, along with proficiency in POS systems like MICROS.
