You’ll uncover and secure unclaimed sales tax refunds for our clients, generating tangible cash-flow benefits, strengthening the value of our broader service offering and reducing risk by managing challenges and identifying opportunities related to indirect taxes The opportunity As an Indirect Tax Senior Manager – Recovery, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, planning, leading and delivering indirect tax recovery engagements for a diverse client base. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Delivering end-to-end recovery services by identifying and securing unclaimed refunds relating to GST/HST, QST, provincial retail sales taxes and other indirect taxes Identifying broader advisory implications and opportunities to enhance overall tax efficiency, helping clients generate meaningful cash savings and resolve complex GST/HST issues Preparing summary reports, analyses, spreadsheets and client correspondence on indirect tax matters related to the indirect tax recovery Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor who proactively supports clients with their indirect tax needs Managing engagement economics, coordinating deliverables and ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction across all aspects of indirect tax recovery services Coaching and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning Demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems Using a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends Using straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others; reading situations and modifying behaviour to build quality relationships What you’ll bring 5 years or more of progressive experience in indirect tax, including proven experience managing client engagements and leading project teams Qualified Canadian CPA or an equivalent reciprocal/recognized accounting designation or the M.Tax would be an asset An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and to travel to client sites if required Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with superior verbal and written communication A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada This position ensures continuity and upholds our standards of excellence following the departure of a valued team member. The salary range for this position is $133,100 - $183,100. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. Requirements
Candidates must have 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in indirect tax and strong knowledge of GST/HST and QST legislation. Fluency in both English and French is required, and a CPA designation or M.Tax is considered an asset.
