Job Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Drywall Technician to join Empire Envelope in Edmonton, AB. As the Drywall Technician you are responsible to install insulation and drywall and ensure all work meets Empire Envelope’s quality and safety standards. You will also coordinate with Site Supervisors and team members to complete tasks efficiently, maintain accurate project documentation, and uphold professionalism when interacting with clients and trades. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: * Completing insulation and drywall installation and repairs for IPD. * Interpret prints to determine location of IPD requirements. * Moving materials and scaffolding as directed determining the most efficient route for travel each day. * Maintaining site cleanliness during scope of work and organizing and cleaning shop for materials and supplies. * Upholding and protecting the high-quality standards of Empire Envelope Ltd. and ensuring that all work performed meets or exceeds these standards. * Representing Empire Envelope Ltd. when dealing with builders, homeowners, and trades. * Tracking of hours and scope of work completed at every job for tracking and billing. This may include pictures, notes and description of work completed. * Providing feedback and questions to direct manager regarding overall quality of work and/or site issues. * Maintaining weekly vehicle inspections for general vehicle cleanliness and maintenance. Reporting any vehicle concerns upon notice. * Ensuring hazard assessments are filled out, proper PPE is worn and safety concerns are reported. * Working with all team members and divisions and completing additional small jobs as needed. Essential Requirements * High School Diploma. * 1+ year of experience in insulation, drywall and general construction. * Must be able to read and interpret blue prints. * Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. * Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. * Satisfactory verification of criminal record check and driver’s abstract. * Comfortable using office equipment and Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint). Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience with taping, texture and painting. * Previous experience working for a homebuilder/drywall company is preferred. Working Conditions You work primarily on-site in new homes with infrequent travel to the regional office. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust.
