We are looking for a loan administrator for one of our clients, an investment bank set in Montreal Key responsibilities: Part of the OPC-FTO Loan Operations team, located in New York and Mumbai, and working in coordination with Business Support groups, the Loan Administrator is responsible for performing day-to-day tasks to successfully execute operations related to the client's loan activity, and for using available resources to help ensure the productivity and quality of the Loan Operations platform. The role is part of a loan production team of 3 to 5 members within a group of 15, under the local responsibility of the Head of Domain and the functional responsibility of the Head of FTO-Loan Operations in New York. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the local referential for the US and related processes for the Data Management unit (US). Responsible for the daily administration and servicing of loans where the client acts in a Participant, Agent, or Direct Lender role. Day-to-Day Tasks and Operations Administer Drawdowns, Rollovers, Repayments, Pre-payments, Funding, Rate-Fixings, and Fees and Commission posting. Process External payments and collection of interest. Perform Nostro Reconciliations and general administration related to the managed loans portfolio. Undertake ad hoc queries and investigations, and monitor all data associated with the unit's responsibilities. Hold day-to-day responsibility for the administration of all facilities and associated products linked to these, for the client, ensuring that all Business-As-Usual processes are carried out in a timely and efficient manner and that necessary controls are adhered to. Learning and Development Maintain appropriate knowledge to remain fully qualified to undertake the role, and complete all mandatory training required to attain and maintain competence. Data Quality Management & Controls Ensure compliance with all necessary controls and procedures in respect of the local regulations of the branches serviced. Escalate any issues, problems, or control gaps to the Team Leader. Process Improvement & Projects Undertake ad hoc duties and project work to assist the management team. When necessary, assist the management team in the enhancement of systems, notably User Acceptance Tests (UAT). Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal Compliance requirements, including but not limited to the Canadian platform policies and the Compliance manual, policies, and procedures as issued from time to time. Comply with Financial Security requirements, including but not limited to the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud, including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer. Profile REQUIREMENTS Mandatory Competencies: Proficient in using the client's loan, payment, and other systems (training provided). Literate in the MS Office suite (Word and Excel). Problem-solving and investigative skills to undertake analysis and resolve issues/problems related to loans operations. Able to operate in "project mode," i.e., contribute to projects run by IT (mainly UAT sessions). Strong communication skills: able to communicate clearly and concisely, tailoring content and style, and promoting free-flowing communication with others. Ability to collaborate successfully with others, valuing and utilizing the different skills and experience of colleagues across the organization, and building interdependence to achieve shared objectives and goals. Experience of Loans Administration and the ability to understand the terms and conditions of loan contracts. Sound knowledge of general banking operations, including Accounting, Funding, Nostro movements, and Cash management. Communication skills with the ability to communicate with Business Support Groups located abroad, in multiple branches of the client, when required. Ability to use current information as the basis for thinking about issues and problems, and to employ a range of techniques to deepen understanding and initiate remedial action. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field related to Business, Management, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial banking operations. Good analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration among team members. Ability to communicate fluently and clearly, orally and in writing. Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders; adaptable and flexible. Hard-working, comfortable with multi-tasking, and able to work under pressure. A self-starter who is highly motivated. US holidays to be followed. Working hours: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexible hours and potential support required during non-working days. Working from Home (WFH): available on a voluntary basis for up to 2 days per week after 2 months of joining, subject to manager's discretion. Nice to Have ACBS experience is preferred.
