Job summary

About Quartz Quartz is reimagining wealth management through personalised intelligence. It's the first wealth platform that truly learns from you, understands your goals, and helps you make confident, informed decisions all in one secure platform. Get the experience of a personal banker that works with you 24/7, at a fraction of the cost. About The Role We're looking for our first Financial Adviser to help shape how Charlie, our AI advisor, thinks and acts and, ultimately, how financial advice is produced at scale. This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between training Charlie (defining what good advice looks like, stress-testing its reasoning, codifying edge cases) and speaking directly to customers. The insight from one feeds the other. You'll also be instrumental in liaising with the FCA, so you'll need the regulatory fluency to help us build in the right direction from day one. This is not a people management role. It's for someone who excels at first principle thinking, is comfortable pulling apart the established playbooks of private banking, and wants to rebuild them for a software-first world. If you're looking to do meaningful work and you're not driven by a nine to five mentality, you might be just who we're looking for. What you'll be doing Training Charlie: defining advice frameworks, reviewing model outputs, curating examples, and codifying judgement calls into something the model can learn from Speaking to customers directly: running advisory conversations that inform both the product and Charlie's development Working alongside product, engineering and ML to translate financial advisory logic into product features Shaping our regulatory posture ahead of targeted support / MiFID permissions with the FCA Contributing to internal guidelines, playbooks, and the advice quality bar What you'll need RQF Level 4 in Financial Planning minimum, AQL listed, and a strong track record of advising clients 3+ years at a top-tier financial adviser and/or private bank (Coutts, Rothschild, Rathbones, Evelyn, Quilter or equivalent) Strong grasp of UK regulatory frameworks around advice (FCA handbook, suitability, MiFID II) Evidence of being tech-savvy: comfortable with software tools, data, and ideally prompting / working with LLMs Self-starter mentality — you can define the problem, not just solve it Ability to think from first principles rather than defaulting to how things were done at your previous firm Fluency in English Nice to have Experience in a start-up or scale-up (at least have started something as a side project!) CFA or equivalent qualification Previous experience training or evaluating AI models Exposure to fintech, robo-advice, or digital wealth platforms
