Quality Assurance Analyst Pay Rate: $71.00/hour, depending on experience Contract Length: 9 Months Location: Edmonton, Alberta Raise is currently hiring a Quality Assurance Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, an esteemed educational institution Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable. Description Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst / Test Lead in this role will join the Graduate Awards and Scholarships Project (GASP). The purpose of GASP is to replace the legacy awards platform with a modern system—Blackbaud Award Management (BBAM)—to enhance graduate awards processes and services, streamline workflows, and enable the decommissioning of the legacy platform (GSMS). The QA Analyst / Test Lead will own the end-to-end testing lifecycle, ensuring high-quality delivery across BBAM configuration, complex integrations with PeopleSoft ERP, and phased data conversion and migration. Responsibilities Strategy & Planning: Develop comprehensive quality assurance strategies, test plans, and testing requirements translated directly from business requirements in collaboration with Business Analysts. Execution & Lifecycle Management: Drive the end-to-end testing lifecycle across three primary project workstreams: BBAM Configuration: Validate back-end administrative workflows and the front-end Student Portal experience. Integrations: Test batch-based data exchanges (Flat file/SFTP) between BBAM and the PeopleSoft ERP (Student Information System and Financials). Data Conversion and Migration: Define and execute the validation strategy for a phased go-live rollout (Stage 1: Award Activation; Stage 2: Payment Activation). Documentation & Technical Advice: Develop and maintain all required QA documentation. Provide technical advice, risk assessments, and test estimates to the Project Manager. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the Technical Lead’s and Program Manager’s "eyes and ears" on the ground. Mentor the project team on testing and quality practices, providing strong leadership to a mix of technical analysts and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring quality issues, develop proactive initiatives to address them, and drive implementation across hybrid work environments. Industry & Product Knowledge: Build a strong working knowledge of institutional products, services, and industry trends to recommend appropriate quality methodologies. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience acting in a Test Lead or senior QA Analyst capacity. Prior experience working within a Higher Education or complex public sector environment is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience testing enterprise-level SaaS solutions. Prior experience working with Blackbaud Award Management (BBAM) or PeopleSoft ERP (specifically Student Financials, Financial Aid, Human Resources, or Payroll modules). Proven track record managing testing for complex data conversions, migrations, and batch-based integrations (Flat file, SFTP). Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams, technical analysts, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment. Outstanding communication skills for bi-directional reporting between technical execution teams and project leadership. Autonomous worker who takes direction well while maintaining rigorous independent accountability. Education and Certifications Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline. Professional testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester - Advanced Level, Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), or equivalent) are considered strong assets.
