About The Company Founded in 2016, our client is a growing consulting firm specializing in the implementation of Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) software solutions. They partner with organizations across a variety of industries to help them improve how they manage, monitor, and report on their environmental, health, safety, and quality performance. As a key implementation partner of a leading EHSQ software provider, they deliver meaningful projects that help their clients build safer, more sustainable workplaces. The Opportunity The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful end-to-end delivery of enterprise software implementation projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations. This role combines strong project leadership and commercial accountability with the technical fluency required to navigate complex software implementations. The Technical Project Manager is expected to proactively manage project risks, anticipate resource and technical dependencies, and independently drive issues toward resolution. Working closely with clients, Project Consultants, and Technical Leads, the Technical Project Manager owns project planning, financial performance, coordination, and stakeholder communication. While Technical Leads remain accountable for solution architecture and technical delivery outcomes, the Technical Project Manager ensures technical activities are effectively planned, coordinated, and progressed. The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially minded problem-solver who demonstrates sound judgment, takes ownership of outcomes, and builds client confidence through clear communication and consistent follow-through. Core Responsibilities Project Leadership & Client Management Lead client-facing enterprise software implementation projects from initiation through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and closeout. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and delivery commitments. Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges, developing mitigation plans and driving timely resolution. Lead client communications, status meetings, and decision-making discussions, including navigating difficult conversations around timelines, scope, and budget. Independently manage day-to-day project challenges, escalating material concerns with clear recommendations and proposed solutions. Commercial & Resource Management Manage project financial performance, including budget tracking, forecasting, resource utilization, and delivery profitability. Identify scope changes, budget pressures, and commercial risks, coordinating change orders and presenting options to clients while obtaining leadership approval for commercial decisions. Maintain forward-looking resource plans, anticipating technical capacity requirements, project dependencies, and scheduling conflicts. Balance client expectations, delivery commitments, and commercial objectives to support successful and profitable project outcomes. Technical Delivery Coordination Develop a working understanding of enterprise software implementation activities, including configuration, integrations, data migration, security, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with Technical Leads and Consultants to validate requirements, challenge assumptions, understand technical estimates, and identify implementation dependencies. Independently coordinate technical issue investigation and resolution, ensuring appropriate specialists are engaged and actions are driven to completion. Translate technical information into clear business implications, communicating risks, options, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. Coordinate internal quality assurance, user acceptance testing, defect management, and production deployment readiness. Lead routine technical coordination with clients and third parties, involving Technical Leads for complex solution decisions and routing formal software vendor escalations through designated company leadership. Initiative & Organizational Effectiveness Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment by investigating challenges, evaluating options, and recommending practical solutions with minimal oversight. Build strong working relationships across project teams, clients, and external stakeholders to support effective collaboration and accountability. Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, resource coordination, and project efficiency. Support junior team members and contribute to a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and client-focused delivery. About You Required Qualifications & Experience 4+ years of project management experience in a client-facing technology environment, including at least 2 years working with SaaS or enterprise software implementations. Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects, including scope, schedule, budgets, resources, risks, and client relationships. Strong commercial awareness, including experience with project financials, forecasting, change management, and delivery profitability. Working knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle, including requirements, configuration, integrations, data migration, testing, and deployment. Ability to understand technical concepts, ask informed questions, challenge assumptions, and coordinate technical specialists without owning solution architecture. Proven ability to anticipate resource needs, manage competing priorities, and proactively resolve delivery challenges. Strong analytical thinking, independent problem-solving, and sound judgment, with the ability to present recommendations and drive decisions. Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, client-focused approach.
