Job summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Marketing Financial Analyst a 5-month contract role. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this standalone position manages $48M in marketing budgets ($45M core budget and $3M secondary budget). The successful candidate will dig into data, manage vendor spend, and ensure complete budget utilization. Key Responsibilities Financial Budgeting & Forecasting (40%) Manage, track, and forecast spend for a $45M primary marketing budget and a $3M secondary budget across multiple business channels. Partner with marketing managers to consolidate forecasts, drive budget utilization, and maintain alignment with planned targets. Identify financial risks and opportunities within active marketing programs. Reporting & Analytics (30%) Extract financial datasets from Oracle into Excel to analyze expenses and generate variance reports. Leverage pre-built Excel models to present marketing spend health and actionable insights directly to executive leadership. Perform data manipulation using advanced formulas and Pivot Tables (experience with SPSS or SAS is an asset). Invoicing & Month-End Administration (30%) Review and submit all month-end expense accruals and perform financial balance reconciliations. Process marketing invoices, ensuring accurate General Ledger (GL) coding and vendor tracking. Manage vendor financial workflows to guarantee timely payments and accurate reporting. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration (BBA), Finance, or a related field. Experience: 1–3+ years of financial analysis experience, specifically analyzing marketing budgets and spend performance. Technical Proficiency: Advanced MS Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, complex formulas, data manipulation). Hands-on experience downloading and organizing ERP data (Oracle preferred). Familiarity with SQL, MS Access, Brio, SPSS, or SAS is a strong asset. Core Competencies: Detail-oriented mindset, strong proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills to partner effectively across teams. Work Schedule & Environment Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break). Work Model: Hybrid structure (In-office Monday through Thursday; Work-from-Home on Friday). In-office presence is non-negotiable. Location: Richmond Hill, ON.
