SAP Functional Consultant - FICO (Contract) Number of openings:1, 6month contract to start, possible extension Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days/week in office) Must be eligible to work in Canada Roles and responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Functional Consultant to serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and application development teams. In this role, you will translate business needs into effective SAP FICO design and configuration solutions alongside clear development requirements. You will plan, analyze, validate, and manage functional requirements for both new and existing processes, policies, and systems. Key Responsibilities Project & Product Management Support (70%) Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and cross-functional project teams to identify operational challenges and enhancement opportunities. Document and provide innovative functional solutions that optimize business processes and system quality. Translate business requirements into clear, actionable development requirements for technical teams. Support testing teams by translating business requirements and use cases into functional test conditions and expected results. Adhere to established System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, project management methodologies, and architecture guidelines, escalating risks as necessary. Provide clear project status updates and timely escalations to the Project Manager or Application Manager. Production Support (30%) Provide Level 2 support, partnering with Business Analysts and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve system issues impacting daily business operations. Work closely with development teams to identify root causes of application defects and implement timely resolutions. Support Unit and QA testing by defining appropriate test cases and test data for defects and enhancements. Follow formal change management standards and processes throughout the system life cycle. Proactively suggest best-practice improvements to optimize existing system capabilities. Provide on-call support for critical system issues outside regular business hours as needed. Must have skills/Qualifications & Experience Education: University degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field (with an emphasis on Information Technology). Overall Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects as a Functional Consultant or Analyst. Domain Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry; direct mortgage domain experience is strictly required. Platform Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP CML or a core banking platform supporting a mortgage line of business. Methodologies: Proven experience working in an Agile environment. Assets: Previous experience working with the TECHCOM application is considered a strong asset. Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively across functional and technical teams.

Requirements

Requires a university degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field with an Information Technology emphasis, plus at least five years supporting IT projects as a Functional Consultant or Analyst. Candidates must have at least five years of Financial Services experience, direct mortgage domain experience, at least two years with SAP CML or a core banking platform supporting mortgages, and experience working in an Agile environment.
