Job details
Calgary business owners buy from people they know. If you are one of the people who already knows them, this posting was written for you. About RavGB RavGB is a young Calgary studio. We build websites, promotional videos, and custom tools for small businesses, and we provide DevOps services for small software companies. We have real client work to show and more opportunity than one person can chase. What we do not have yet is someone on the ground in Calgary. That is this job. The role, in one line Be the face of RavGB in Calgary. You visit local businesses in person, start honest conversations, learn what they need, and book meetings with our owner. We handle the quotes, the contracts, and the work itself. You will work from prospect lists we provide, plus the people and places you already know. This is not a call centre job and it is not phone only. It is face to face, local, and relationship based. What you will do - Visit 15 to 20 Calgary businesses per week in person - Attend local business and networking events when they are worth it - Start conversations with owners and book follow-up meetings - Log every visit the same day in a simple shared sheet - Send a short weekly summary of visits, conversations, and next steps - Follow up with businesses you have already met, on the day you promised Skills you will use every week - Starting friendly conversations with business owners - Listening for what a business actually needs - Explaining websites and online services in plain language - Planning your visits and routes across Calgary - Following up on time, every time - Keeping clear notes on every visit Must have - Previous experience in sales, business development, or a client facing role where you dealt with customers or business owners directly. Banking, real estate, insurance, or running your own business all count. We will ask for references, and we do check them - Fluent English, spoken and written. You will be the voice of RavGB in first conversations - Real connections in Calgary's business community, or a background where you built them - Comfort walking into a business and starting a friendly two minute conversation - A reliable follow-up habit. Most of our clients will say yes on the third or fourth touch, not the first - Your own vehicle and a valid driver's licence, since the work is across Calgary - Comfort with a smartphone, email, WhatsApp, and shared spreadsheets - A plain level understanding of what a website and a Google listing do for a small business. We will teach you the rest Assets (nice to have, not required) - Knowledge of websites and tech: how websites, domains, online booking, SEO, or Google Business Profiles help a business get customers - Experience using a CRM or tracking leads in a system - Fluency in a second language spoken in Calgary's business community - An existing network among Calgary daycares, clinics, restaurants, trades, or professional offices Pay and terms, in real numbers - $975 per month base, paid monthly - Commission of 10% to 15% on revenue we actually collect from clients you bring in, paid after the client pays. Example: bring in a website project of $1,500 that gets paid, and you earn $150 to $225 on top of your base that month - A smaller commission continues for the first few months on clients who stay on a monthly service - 90 day trial to start, with clear weekly activity targets - You represent RavGB with our approved materials and prices only. You never handle payments and never sign anything. Money and contracts stay with the owner We are hiring one person for this role. When the right person is in, this posting comes down. How to apply Apply here on LinkedIn, or email hello@ravgb.com with a short note (no cover letter needed) that answers two things: 1. How are you connected to Calgary's business community? 2. Name the first 10 Calgary businesses you would visit in week one, and why. Short answers are fine. We read every one.
