Position Summary Ravic is seeking an experienced EMS Utility Billing Product Specialist to serve as the functional expert for the Utility Billing module within the EMS Municipal Management Suite. This role bridges the gap between municipal operations and software development by working directly with clients, implementation teams, and product management to ensure EMS continues to deliver industry-leading utility billing functionality. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of municipal utility billing operations, including customer account management, meter reading, billing cycles, rates, adjustments, payments, collections, and reporting. This individual will play a key role in customer implementations, product design, quality assurance, and defining the future roadmap of the EMS Utility Billing solution. Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Management & Roadmap Serve as the functional product expert for the EMS Utility Billing module. Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements. Define business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new functionality. Prioritize enhancements and contribute to the long-term product roadmap. Participate in product demonstrations and support sales activities as the Utility Billing subject matter expert. Client Implementations Lead the Utility Billing functional portion of EMS implementations. Analyze existing municipal utility billing processes and recommend best practices. Configure EMS Utility Billing to meet customer business requirements. Assist with data conversion planning and validation. Support customer acceptance testing (UAT) and production readiness. Deliver user training and create implementation documentation. Utility Billing Operations Develop expertise across all aspects of municipal utility billing including: Customer account management Meter installation and lifecycle management Meter reading imports and validation Consumption calculations Billing cycles Flat rate and metered services Tiered and consumption-based rates Seasonal services and billing Service orders and ownership changes Adjustments and corrections Final billing Payment processing Collections and arrears management Reporting and reconciliation Product Quality Perform functional testing of new features and enhancements. Validate software changes prior to release. Assist in reproducing and troubleshooting customer issues. Work closely with developers to ensure business requirements are accurately implemented. Customer Support Provide advanced functional support to municipal customers. Assist with complex billing scenarios and system configuration. Recommend best practices and operational improvements. Develop knowledge base articles and training materials. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience working with municipal utility billing operations or utility billing software. Strong understanding of: Meter reading processes Utility billing cycles Rate structures Customer service operations Billing adjustments Collections Payment processing Experience participating in software implementations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work directly with municipal staff and stakeholders. Willingness to travel occasionally for customer implementations and training. Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing or administering municipal utility billing software. Experience with meter reading systems (Itron, Neptune, Sensus, Badger, etc.). Familiarity with Oracle Cloud applications. Experience with data conversions and SQL. Knowledge of municipal finance and customer service operations. Experience writing business requirements and functional specifications.
