Job Description What is the opportunity? The Associate Director plays a key role in developing and executing upon the Client & Account Data overall strategy and goals within Capital Markets. As part of the wider Client & Account Data function, this role is primarily responsible for supporting the Global Sales and Trading businesses as well as stakeholders in maintaining and remediating account & client data across various product processing systems within Capital Markets. This role also assists in ensuring these applications and their respective datasets are kept up to date and consistent with counterparty requirements. Supporting data governance and quality controls, as well as actively participating in business and regulatory initiatives that have a significant impact to the firm and clients. The role is aimed at developing operational management of data, focused on improving efficiencies, reducing costs whilst minimizing risk. Working collaboratively with CLMG partners, COO Group, Risk, IT and front office business partners throughout the bank, to understand their requirements and relevant business processes in order to deliver change and ultimately improve client service. What will you do? Key Responsibilities Business as Usual Manage a team of managers across multiple locations that maintain global client & account data Manage requests from multiple business areas; understand E2E process and trade flows. Allocation of resources and manage priorities in order to effectively meet goals and objectives Work closely with IT teams to update new logic changes to ensure the reports meet current standards Help new system integrations that are developed to streamline the current flow of client data Providing coaching and mentorship on a regular basis, focusing on team development and learning, with the goal of increasing skills, knowledge, and relationships within the broader group and the overall enterprise. Relationship Management Work collaboratively with business partners, IT and CLMG alike. Be accountable to senior management around metrics, timelines & project expectations; prepare materials for distribution among senior forums Strive to proactively seek out efficiencies in processes. Proactively escalate issues as they arise and coordinate with the leadership team to ensure that we are able to manage expectations. Optimize client & account processes to reduce cycle time, manual effort and improve both end user experiences and realize cost savings. Linking multiple functions and processes to a common source of data, reducing operational costs associated with maintaining multiple data silos through a single integrated reference point for trade processing and reporting. Maintain documentation outlining data lineage pertaining to all client & account related reference data in order to support the expansion of operational capabilities across Capital Markets, aiding in the prioritization of process and system enhancements. Change the Bank / Projects Work closely with management and supporting teams, providing input on all initiatives impacting client & account data applications and expansion of client & account data consumption by downstream users to meet ongoing and evolving business, risk, and regulatory requirements. Support delivery of client & account data remediation activities, finding innovative ways to both remediate and implement stronger data quality controls. Develop and oversee client & account data quality reporting and ensure senior management is informed of data quality issues and operational risks impacting downstream processes or business operations. Maintain documentation outlining client & account data lineage and support expansion of operational capabilities across Capital Markets. Act as a subject matter expert on client & account related projects. What you need to succeed? Required Experience & Skills 5-7 years in leadership roles in a Financial Institution, supporting business Analysis, data Analysis, or a related role within financial services. Experience working in a data-intensive environment with exposure to multiple source systems and complex data flows. Excellent Communication skills, Strong PC skills, particularly Microsoft office, ability to work in fast paced environment with frequent distractions and changing priorities, High standards for accuracy and efficiency. Demonstrates initiative and seeks to solve problems beyond immediate area of influence Ability to maintain strong attention to detail and meet deadlines in high-pressure situations Facilitates cross-department information flow and best practice sharing Builds and matures relationships across the organization; high level of client focus Leadership skills & ability to provide growth for members of the team Strong verbal and written communication skills Technical Skills Excellent communication skills, strong PC skills, particularly Microsoft office, ability to work in fast paced environment with frequent distractions and changing priorities, High standards for accuracy and efficiency. Experience with reference data and Capital Markets processes and Operations Project team experience in supporting the delivery of components of complex projects Proficiency in Excel including advanced functions; SQL familiarity is an asset.
