Job summary

Our client is a specialized consulting firm supporting clients across the mining and natural resources sector, with projects spanning a range of locations and operating environments. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Geotechnical/Rock Mechanics Engineer to join the team. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to a variety of geotechnical and rock mechanics projects, primarily supporting international mining clients. The position will involve travel and exposure to projects throughout different stages of development, from early conceptual assessments through detailed design and operational support. Responsibilities will include geotechnical investigations and characterization, assessment of rock mass conditions, and the application of rock mechanics principles to both open pit and underground mining environments. You will work closely with mining engineers, geoscientists, and other technical professionals to develop practical solutions for complex project requirements. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Geological, Mining, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline. Approximately 3–8 years of relevant industry experience. Experience working within an operating open pit or underground mine environment is considered an asset. Hands-on experience with geotechnical logging, geological mapping, and rock mass assessment. Experience using geological modelling applications. Familiarity with 2D and/or 3D numerical modelling tools used for geotechnical applications. Exposure to hydrogeology would be an advantage. Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a small, technically focused team. Professional registration, or the ability to obtain professional registration, is required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary group of technical specialists on projects across Canada and internationally. International travel may be required depending on project needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $85,000–$110,000, with the final offer based on qualifications, technical experience, and overall suitability for the role.
