Job summary
JOB DESCRIPTION: HOT TAP ASSISTANT I (Plant & Pipeline Assistant I) BASIC FUNcTIONS The role of the Hot Tap Assistant I has a wide scope. The Hot Tap Assistant I will assist in all aspects of the hot tap process. From the initial rigging in of the welder to the clean-up of the site after the completion of the hot tap. The Hot Tap Assistant I would also be required to come into the shop to complete such tasks as general shop work, helping out with manufacturing and vehicle/equipment maintenance. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Industry related training and/or tickets General knowledge of the oil and gas industry in relation to the services RFI provides Grade 12 or equivalency diploma an asset or at the discretion of Management Physical and mental capability to perform in the field or shop RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in pre and post job set up Assist the technician in all aspects of the hot tap operation Come into the shop to complete maintenance on vehicles, equipment and basic shop maintenance Have the ability to come in and help out with the manufacturing of hot tap fittings, and testing hot tap prototypes Come into the shop and kit jobs DUTIES Rigging welder in and out Prepping the pipe for the pre job inspection Assisting with pre job welding procedure requirements which include spark test, amp check and cool down tests Cleaning up the work site once the work has been completed after each day or each location Bolting up valves and hot tap machines Completing pressure tests Completing the hot tap Other duties as required HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with Red Flame Industries Health and Safety Policies Ensure that all field work is completed in compliance with Red Flame Industries, Customer, and Industrial Requirements Be responsible for hazard mitigation and adhere to PPE requirements for all work sites Participate in RFI health and safety program as necessary

Requirements
Requires industry-related training, general knowledge of the oil and gas industry, and the physical capability to work in field and shop environments. A Grade 12 diploma or equivalency is considered an asset.
