We are currently hiring a Director of Sales for our Courtyard by Marriott London property in London, Ontario. About the Role We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the hotel's sales and business development initiatives. The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, developing key corporate and group accounts, and strengthening the hotel's presence within the London market. The successful candidate will work closely with hotel leadership and Revenue Management to identify business opportunities, optimize sales strategies, and achieve the hotel's overall revenue objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality sales professional with strong business development skills, commercial awareness, and a proven ability to build long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue, and market share objectives. Identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate, group, leisure, government, negotiated, and local market segments. Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, local businesses, travel partners, sports organizations, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, and community partners. Conduct outside sales calls, client meetings, property tours, presentations, networking activities, and other business development initiatives. Manage and grow existing accounts while proactively identifying new revenue opportunities. Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, account production, business trends, and demand patterns. Collaborate with Revenue Management and hotel leadership to support pricing strategies and maximize revenue opportunities. Prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, production reports, and performance updates. Utilize CRM systems, hotel sales platforms, and reporting tools to effectively manage sales activities and accounts. Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and strategic initiatives. Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry functions, networking events, and community activities. Collaborate with Operations, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to support exceptional guest experiences and account retention. Ensure sales initiatives are aligned with Marriott brand standards and the hotel's overall business objectives. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience. Previous experience in a hotel sales leadership or management role is preferred. Proven track record of achieving sales, revenue, and business development targets. Strong experience in corporate sales, group sales, account management, and new business development. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance, market trends, and revenue opportunities. Experience with CRM systems, hotel sales platforms, and sales reporting tools. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and lead strategic sales initiatives. Valid driver's license and ability to conduct local market sales activities. Previous experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or another major hotel brand is an asset. Knowledge of STR reporting, market analysis, revenue management, and hotel performance metrics is an asset. Experience with Marriott sales systems and brand platforms is preferred. Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
