At ReFOCUS, our mission is to empower asylum seekers and refugees by equipping them with filmmaking and modern media skills to overcome the challenges they face, such as limited access to education, language barriers, financial constraints, and mental health issues resulting from years of displacement. Through our three media labs, we provide comprehensive education in photography, filmmaking, audio engineering, and graphic design. Moreover, we actively collaborate with our students in the production of impactful movies and documentaries. Since our establishment in 2017, we have successfully certified hundreds of media students and produced multiple internationally recognized movies that have been showcased at prestigious film festivals worldwide, including the World International Film Festival in Amsterdam, the Human Rights Film Festival in Berlin, the Melbourne International Film Festival, and the New Delhi International Film Festival in India. Furthermore, ReFOCUS has garnered media coverage from major networks such as the BBC, National Geographic, and Al Jazeera.
