As Senior Manager, Customer Experience and Digital Strategy, you’ll lead efforts in leveraging customer data to drive exceptional experiences and business growth, helping shape how we engage with our community and deliver modern, responsive services. The Opportunity The Manager, Marketing & Digital Communications provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Region of Peel's marketing, digital communications, web services, social media, and multimedia functions. The role leads a team of communications professionals responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating integrated marketing and digital communication strategies that increase awareness of Regional programs and services, enhance stakeholder engagement, strengthen the Region's brand, and support organizational priorities. As a member of the broader Communications leadership team, the Manager contributes to the development and implementation of divisional strategies, priorities, and performance measures while ensuring the Region's digital presence, marketing initiatives, and brand standards support positive user experiences and measurable business outcomes. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Planning Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and oversight to a team of communications professionals responsible for marketing, digital communications, web services, social media, content management, creative services, and multimedia production. Lead the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated marketing and digital communications strategies that support Regional priorities, programs, services, and initiatives. Develop and implement innovative marketing and digital communication solutions that increase awareness, engagement, and adoption of Regional programs and services. Apply systems thinking and organizational insight to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and align marketing and digital communications initiatives with corporate objectives and business outcomes. Contribute to divisional planning and the achievement of Strategic Communications priorities, objectives, and performance measures. Digital Communications & Content Strategy Provide strategic guidance and expertise across the organization to ensure digital information and services are findable, usable, accessible, mobile-enabled, and aligned with user needs and expectations. Lead the development and implementation of an integrated approach to web, social media, digital marketing, and multimedia communications. Establish and oversee governance, standards, and content management practices for the Region's internet, intranet, social media channels, and video/multimedia content. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and standards, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), accessibility requirements, and Regional brand guidelines. Align digital communication priorities and initiatives with the Region's Digital Strategy and desired organizational outcomes. Marketing, Brand & Stakeholder Relations Lead strategic marketing initiatives designed to increase public awareness of Regional programs and services and support behavioural change objectives. Collaborate with Communications teams and business partners to enhance, protect, and maintain the integrity and consistency of the Region's brand. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic communications objectives and promote Regional services and initiatives. Provide expert consultation and advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on marketing, digital communications, content strategy, social media, and user experience best practices. Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement Develop performance measures and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and digital communications initiatives through analytics, reporting, and stakeholder feedback. Monitor emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in marketing, digital communications, social media, web management, and user experience. Identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, and continuous improvement to enhance service delivery and stakeholder engagement. Apply data, analytics, and insights to inform strategic decisions and improve communication outcomes. Financial & People Leadership Manage operating and capital budgets and ensure effective stewardship of financial resources. Lead procurement activities and oversee external vendors, consultants, contracts, and service providers. Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and professional development. Ensure team capacity, skills, and capabilities support current and future service delivery requirements. Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Digital Strategy, Digital Marketing, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in digital communications, digital media, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. At least 5 years experience in leading diverse team of Communications professionals that have demonstrated achieving service outcomes Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams and achieving strategic service outcomes. Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization. Extensive experience developing and implementing marketing, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Strong knowledge of website development, website governance, content management systems, information architecture, and digital user experience principles. Strong understanding of how content, graphic design, multimedia, and technology integrate to create engaging and effective communications. Demonstrated experience leading successful marketing campaigns and measuring results through analytics and performance metrics. Sound knowledge of behavioural insights, behaviour change principles, and change management concepts as they relate to marketing and communications. Strong understanding of digital communication channels, social media platforms, multimedia production, and emerging technologies. Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles, content strategy, digital accessibility standards, and web best practices. Experience with web publishing, content management systems, HTML/CSS, image and video optimization, and social media content distribution. Demonstrated ability to lead strategic and operational planning initiatives and effectively manage resources in a complex environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills. Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
