An established company based in Victoria, BC, we nurture a strong culture of communication, trust, and collaboration. Embracing a work–life balance, promoting continuous learning, and celebrating our achievements are a few of the ways we show our enduring commitment to employees. Your mission: As a Graphic Designer Co-op, you’ll support the Creative Services team in creating high-quality visual materials for a variety of real-world print and digital projects. You’ll contribute to marketing collateral, trade show and event graphics, social media, presentations, and other creative assets while learning how design is developed and produced within an established brand. Working alongside experienced designers, you’ll build on the skills you’ve developed in school and gain hands-on experience with professional design processes, production standards, and collaborative feedback. You’ll have opportunities to contribute ideas, take on projects suited to your experience, and grow your skills while helping the team deliver thoughtful, consistent creative work. In this role you will: Create print and digital design assets such as brochures, advertisements, banners, presentations, signage, and promotional materials. Support the development and production of large-format graphics for trade shows, events, and corporate spaces. Develop graphics and image assets for websites, social media, internal communications, and other digital channels. Apply Reliable Controls brand standards and established design guidelines consistently across your work. Prepare artwork and production files for print, digital publishing, and other final outputs. Update existing marketing collateral and creative assets as needed. Collaborate with Creative Services team members and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback. Organize working files and completed assets according to established Creative Services processes. Participate in creative reviews and team discussions while developing your design, production, and communication skills. This role might be right for you if you have: Current enrollment in a Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related post-secondary program with eligibility for a co-op work term. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. A portfolio demonstrating foundational skills in graphic design, typography, layout, and visual communication. An understanding of basic design principles and an interest in applying them across print and digital media. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. An openness to feedback, willingness to ask questions, and eagerness to learn. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments. A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute as part of a creative team. You’ll be successful in this position if you: Have experience preparing artwork for print or large-format production. Have experience creating graphics for social media or other digital platforms. Bring curiosity, creative problem-solving, and an interest in learning new design techniques and technologies. Have experience building and maintaining PowerPoint templates. What we offer: Work–Life Balance & Flexibility: We know quality work comes from a balanced life. That’s why we offer generous paid time off and hybrid work options whenever possible. Health, Wellness & Community: Your well-being matters. Enjoy access to free on-site gyms at both Victoria locations, along with social events nearly every month. Prefer green commuting?
