Job details
Location: Barrie / Simcoe County, Ontario Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Renewable Energy | Solar Solutions Comp: $65K - $75K + OTE Help Customers Make the Move to Solar Energy We're partnering confidentially with a growing renewable energy organization seeking a Solar Energy Advisor to help homeowners and businesses explore practical, cost-effective solar energy solutions. This is a customer-facing sales opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding customer needs and guiding purchasing decisions. You'll manage the sales process from initial consultation through signed agreement, helping customers understand solar technology, potential financial benefits and the solutions best suited to their energy requirements. You don't need to come directly from the solar industry. We're equally interested in strong consultative sales professionals who can learn technical products, build trust and consistently convert opportunities into business. What You'll Own Conduct virtual and in-person consultations with prospective residential and commercial customers. Evaluate customer energy needs and identify suitable solar solutions. Present tailored proposals, explaining system options, potential savings and long-term benefits. Manage prospective customers through the full sales cycle, from discovery to closing. Maintain an organized pipeline and consistent follow-up through CRM systems. Address customer questions, overcome objections and support informed purchasing decisions. Work toward individual sales targets and contribute to revenue growth. Coordinate with design, operations and installation teams to ensure a smooth customer experience. Stay informed about solar incentives, net metering programs and relevant industry developments. Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, conversion rates and customer satisfaction. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Proven experience in sales, customer service or consultative selling. Strong relationship-building, presentation and communication skills. Ability to explain technical products and financial considerations in clear, practical terms. Confidence managing customer conversations and guiding purchasing decisions. Strong organization, follow-up and pipeline management skills. Comfortable using CRM systems and learning proposal software. Self-motivated, accountable and comfortable working toward performance targets. Highly Valued Previous experience in solar energy or renewable energy sales. Background in home improvement, HVAC, roofing, electrical services or other high-value consumer products. Experience selling technical solutions to homeowners or businesses. Knowledge of Canadian solar incentives, financing and net metering. Familiarity with Close CRM, SolarGraf or Aurora Solar. Who Will Thrive Here? You're a consultative salesperson who understands that customers rarely make significant purchasing decisions based on a sales pitch alone. You ask good questions, listen carefully and know how to turn complex information into a clear recommendation. You can manage multiple opportunities, follow through consistently and build the confidence customers need to make an informed decision. Most importantly, you're comfortable taking ownership of the sales process and delivering results. Why Consider This Opportunity? Work in the growing renewable energy sector. Help residential and commercial customers evaluate long-term energy solutions. Manage the full customer relationship rather than only one stage of the sales process. Collaborate with technical, design and installation professionals. Apply your existing sales skills while developing expertise in solar technology. Contribute directly to customer acquisition and business growth. Apply in Confidence If you have a strong consultative sales background, enjoy working with customers and are interested in building your career in renewable energy, we'd welcome a conversation. Direct solar industry experience is an asset, not a requirement. All applications and inquiries will be handled confidentially.
