About Remote Robotic Systems Help build the team behind advanced robotics and autonomous systems operating across air, land, and sea. Remote Robotic Systems (RRS) is a Canadian robotics and defence-tech company helping organizations deploy drones, robotic platforms, sensors, payloads, and remote operations technologies for mission-critical applications across defence, public safety, security, industrial, infrastructure, energy, and government sectors. We’re a fast-moving team that values ownership, practical problem solving, careful follow-through, and people who can bring structure to evolving work. The Role RRS is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support hiring across engineering, technical, operations, and corporate functions. You will manage recruitment activities from hiring manager intake through offer acceptance, including developing job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting initial screens, coordinating interviews, and preparing offers. You will also support onboarding, pre-employment screening, employee records, and co-op recruitment. We’re looking for someone who can manage multiple open positions, partner confidently with hiring managers, and find candidates through more than traditional job-board postings. What You Will Work On Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles. Conduct hiring intake meetings and clarify requirements, timelines, interview plans, and sourcing strategies. Draft clear, candidate-friendly, and compliant job descriptions and postings. Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, professional communities, campus programs, and targeted outreach. Review applications, conduct initial screens, coordinate interviews, and maintain candidate communication. Prepare offers and coordinate reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment documentation. Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data within the applicant tracking system. Support recruitment reporting, process documentation, and data cleanup. Coordinate onboarding activities and maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS. Support the company’s co-op program and attend recruitment events as required. Use approved AI-enabled tools to support sourcing, screening preparation, candidate summaries, and communications, with appropriate human review. Core Requirements Two to four years of recruitment or talent acquisition experience in an in-house or agency environment. Experience managing multiple requisitions across different functions or disciplines. Hands-on experience with sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and hiring manager partnership. Experience developing job descriptions and candidate-facing postings. Strong applicant tracking system experience and attention to data accuracy. Ability to recommend sourcing approaches beyond standard job-board posting. Strong organization, communication, judgment, and follow-through. Post-secondary education in human resources, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Able to work primarily on-site in Mississauga, Ontario. Nice to Have Experience recruiting for engineering, technical, manufacturing, or other specialized positions. Experience in robotics, hardware, aerospace, defence, advanced manufacturing, software, or another engineering-led environment. Experience supporting onboarding, co-op programs, or applicant tracking system implementation and data cleanup. CHRP designation or active progress toward it. Familiarity with Ontario recruitment and job-posting requirements. What Will Make You Successful You keep candidates and hiring managers informed. You manage competing priorities without losing track of details. You quickly learn unfamiliar technical roles and ask thoughtful questions. You maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion. You look for practical ways to make recruitment more organized, consistent, and scalable. What We Offer The opportunity to help build the team behind a growing Canadian robotics and defence-technology company. Broad exposure to recruitment across technical and corporate functions. The ability to help strengthen recruitment and onboarding practices as the organization grows. A 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment. Employment Details Type: Full-time, 12-month contract. This posting is for a newly created vacancy. Location: Primarily on-site in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting To: Manager, People Operations. Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Travel: Approximately 10% for recruitment events and occasional visits to the Kanata location. Use of AI in Hiring: We may use AI tools to assist with parts of the recruitment process. These tools support our team, but all hiring decisions are made by people. Application Process Submit your resume and a short note describing your experience with full-cycle recruitment, candidate sourcing, hiring manager partnership, or technical and specialized hiring. Remote Robotic Systems is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodation is available upon request throughout the recruitment process.
