RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD immediately requires an INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER LOCATION: Board Administration Office, Pembroke, with travel throughout the RCDSB HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week (100% full-time), 12 months per year SALARY GRID: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience within the current pay band of $138,186 - $151,000 per annum. POSITION OVERVIEW: Working closely with the Information Communications Technology (ICT) Team and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the ICT Manager supports the administrative and academic needs of the District by articulating and delivering on the Multi-year Strategic Plan and ICT Department Action Plan. The ICT Manager leads a team of approximately 25 ICT professionals supporting 24 educational sites, 3 administrative buildings, and nearly 11,000 students and staff. The ideal candidate is an innovative, collaborative coach and leader who prioritizes customer service, drives digital transformation, ensures system security, and optimizes technology deployment across the District. ABOUT THE DISTRICT: The Renfrew County District School Board (“RCDSB”) is situated along the banks of the Ottawa River stretching from Deep River in the north-west, to Arnprior in the south-east and Barry's Bay along the north-east edge of Algonquin Park. The District is located in a rural area that is steeped in a rich history of farming, forestry, outdoor adventure, and is home to both a Canadian military base and nuclear science and technology facility. The County of Renfrew and the surrounding areas have been the territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people for thousands of years and is home to the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation. Qualifications And Experience Minimum Requirements: Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related ICT discipline Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in an IT support function with a track record of project management and results delivery Leadership: Senior leadership experience demonstrating team building, strategic problem-solving, and decision-making Skills: Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; proven project management and budget management capabilities Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing staff Demonstrated experience with K-12 educational systems, processes, and applications (e.g., Student Information Systems, learning tools) Specialized training on district-specific platforms and technologies Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Create and articulate an ICT vision that aligns District and Ministry of Education priorities; foster collaboration across departments; define, deliver, and support strategic plans for educational and administrative technologies. People Leadership: Direct, mentor, and build capacity among a team of approximately 25 ICT professionals (including direct supervision of two Assistant Managers, the ICT Security Analyst, and Department Secretary). Resource & Financial Stewardship: Forecast requirements and manage a multi-million dollar departmental budget. Schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and manage application/system life cycles from procurement through contract negotiation and implementation. Technical Proficiency & Cybersecurity: Support the safeguarding of student, staff, and district digital assets through robust security protocols, disaster recovery, backup procedures, and privacy frameworks. Drive digital transformation and efficiency improvements. Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with vendors, external partners, and peer ICT networks (e.g., OASBO); provide regular guidance and updates to the Senior Team and Board of Trustees, as well as direction to staff.
