Business Analyst (Agile/Support/Data)

Our client in the insurance sector is seeking a contract based Senior IT Business Analyst . This role is accountable for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and system requirements while ensuring those requirements are met throughout the full project lifecycle—from discovery through implementation and production support. Location: hybrid Toronto Duration: 6 months to start Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact between business partners and project teams. Facilitate discussions to clearly understand business problems, objectives, and constraints. Analyze current-state and future-state business processes across enterprise domains. Translate business needs into clear, complete, and testable functional and non-functional requirements. Apply modeling techniques such as business process flows, use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models. Ensure full traceability between business requirements, solution design, and test scenarios. Lead and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scenario definition, test case validation, and defect triage. Collaborate with QA teams to define integration, system, and performance testing requirements. Support implementation and deployment activities, including data conversion and post-go-live validation. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues in collaboration with developers and technical support teams. Perform data analysis and investigation using Oracle SQL to support defect resolution and business validation. Ensure operational stability and continuous improvement of production systems. Requirements: 7+ years of experience performing business analysis for custom system development on large, complex initiatives. Experience with requirements definition, Business process modeling, Use cases and workflows, Data modeling Solid understanding of relational databases; hands-on experience with Oracle SQL required. Experience applying custom system development methodologies. Excellent facilitation, consultative, and stakeholder management skills.

The role involves eliciting and documenting business and system requirements throughout the full project lifecycle from discovery to implementation. It also requires managing production support, performing data analysis using Oracle SQL, and leading User Acceptance Testing.

Candidates need over 7 years of experience in business analysis for complex custom system development. Proficiency in Oracle SQL, relational databases, and business process modeling is required.
