Job summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst to join a high-performing Agile technology team responsible for the ongoing evolution of enterprise customer platforms and digital business applications. This is a highly collaborative role that combines Technical Product Ownership, Business Systems Analysis, Agile Delivery, and Scrum leadership. You will own product backlogs and delivery roadmaps while working closely with executives, business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and delivery managers to deliver scalable technology solutions. The ideal candidate has progressed from a technical background into product or delivery leadership and is equally comfortable presenting to senior executives as they are participating in technical discussions around architecture, integrations, APIs, and solution design. Duration: 12 Months Location: Hybrid – Markham, ON - 4d onsite Responsibilities Own and prioritize product backlogs for enterprise customer platforms and digital technology initiatives. Develop and maintain product roadmaps, technology roadmaps, release plans, and integrated delivery schedules. Balance competing priorities across business initiatives, production support, modernization efforts, technical debt remediation, and operational enhancements. Translate business objectives into well-defined epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional requirements. Facilitate discovery sessions and requirements workshops with business and technical stakeholders. Analyze current-state business processes and recommend technology-enabled improvements. Participate in solution design discussions involving APIs, integrations, application architecture, data models, workflows, and enterprise systems. Conduct technical impact assessments and facilitate architecture reviews, design governance, and solution approval sessions. Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate closely with architects, developers, QA, UX, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Partner with QA and business teams to support test planning, user acceptance testing, and production readiness. Monitor project risks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery progress across multiple workstreams. Support production issue investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Present delivery status, roadmaps, risks, dependencies, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Drive continuous improvement across Agile delivery, product management, and business analysis practices. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive IT experience with a strong technical foundation. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Delivery Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Business Systems Analyst. Previous hands-on technical experience as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Architect is strongly preferred. Proven experience leading enterprise software delivery within Agile environments. Experience owning product backlogs, roadmaps, sprint planning, and release management. Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and modern product management principles. Experience performing Scrum Master responsibilities alongside Product Owner duties. Ability to balance Product Owner, Business Analyst, and Agile delivery leadership responsibilities. Strong understanding of: REST APIs, System integrations, Enterprise application architecture, Data flows, Authentication and security concepts, Cloud-based application development Experience facilitating technical discussions with engineering and architecture teams. Strong experience gathering business requirements and producing: User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Functional Specifications, Process Maps, Business Process Documentation Experience managing delivery across multiple teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives. Experience using Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, user stories, and delivery tracking. Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Experience working within large enterprise environments. Preferred Experience Experience working with enterprise customer platforms, CRM solutions, digital customer experience applications, or integrated business systems. Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives involving customer-facing platforms. Experience with customer service, field service, or enterprise business applications. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, Azure services, microservices, and API-first development. Experience participating in Architecture Review Boards, design governance, or enterprise solution reviews. PMP, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile certifications are considered assets.
