Job summary
Lead the back-of-house team by calling the line, managing schedules, and ensuring food quality and presentation standards. Oversee inventory, hygienic food handling, and the planning of catered events and special functions.
Job details
You Will Be looking to gain further experience and refine your skills for your journey to executive chef. Act as the leader, calling the line and communicating with Front of House staff. Prepare weekly reports, manage invoices and schedule the Back of House team. Assess any needs for preparation work or supplies prior to service. Ensure food is received, stored, handled and prepared in a hygienic and Food Safe compliant manner. Prepare, cook, and plate food to established quality and presentation standards. Lead team orientations and meetings, as well as season start and end procedures. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, promoting career advancement. Manage inventory and possible menu development. Maintain effective communication through the restaurant and with teammates. Ensure all cooks maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times. Plan and develop catered events and special functions. Perform other duties as assigned. You Have Considerable experience in a food preparation role in a professional dining establishment. Strong leadership skills, consistently ensuring food and presentation standards are maintained. A love of, and passion for, food and cooking. The physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs, perform manual labor, and stand for prolonged periods. The flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Food Safe or other food handling certification. A culinary background, education, or diploma (an asset). We Offer Competitive Wage: $21.98 - $26.52 per hour.
