JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance of the Port of Québec. The employee also assists various trades within the department in the preparation and execution of their work. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform various support tasks alongside specialized colleagues (welder, plumber, carpenter, etc.); Provide water service to ships, on a rotating basis with other labourers; Assist colleagues with the maintenance and repair of railway tracks; Participate in the installation and removal of cofferdams; Assist with the installation and removal of fenders and dock ladders; Set up, maintain, and dismantle equipment required for the smooth operation of the cruise season at the terminal (barriers, etc.); Install snow markers, speed bumps, and other equipment; Install signage for various operations in accordance with instructions (snow removal, etc.); Perform snow removal manually, using a snow blower and a pickup truck equipped with a plow, on access points to port infrastructure and facilities (doors, guardhouses, etc.), and spread salt and sand on ice during winter; Assist in the maintenance of the small agora basins (water treatment, cleanliness); Collect waste throughout the site; Carry out landscaping and grounds maintenance work (interlock repair, grading, compacting, mowing lawns, and maintaining flower beds and shrubs); Operate a jackhammer for various tasks; Clean and maintain various tools and equipment; Operate a forklift to transport materials; Comply with occupational health and safety regulations; Perform any other related duties. REQUIRED PROFILE High school diploma; 6 months to 1 year of experience in similar roles; Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
