As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team of technicians working to maintain all of our medium and heavy-duty construction equipment throughout the year. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for a responsible, independent, and self-motivated mechanic who thrives on being challenged with on-the-spot repairs at various field locations. General Responsibilities * Inspection & Diagnosis: * Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery and vehicles. * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. * Maintenance & Repair: * Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems. * Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and diagnostic equipment. * Travel to various remote sites for field repairs as needed. * Overhaul: * Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment engines and components. * Rebuild hydraulic systems and related components. * Record Keeping: * Develop and maintain routine and preventative maintenance schedules. * Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed. * Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies. * Safety Compliance: * Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. * Participate in safety training and stay up-to-date with industry standards. * Teamwork: * Communicate clearly with mechanical technicians and team members during repair operations. * Share knowledge and train technicians and support staff members as required. Qualifications & Experience * Journeyman Ticket as Heavy Duty Mechanic preferred – proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. * 3-5 years’ experience with heavy equipment repair in a similar position. * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required – Class 3 License would be an asset. * Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. * Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software. * Excellent written and spoken communication skills. * Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Keen interest in learning and developing new skills, keeping up with advancing technology. Requirements * This position typically involves working in a garage or shop setting, with exposure to various weather conditions and noise levels. * Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more, with assistance) and perform physically demanding tasks. * Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and in confined spaces. Responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of medium and heavy-duty construction equipment. Tasks include performing preventive maintenance, overhauling engines and hydraulic systems, and conducting field repairs at remote sites.

Requires a Journeyman Ticket as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and 3-5 years of relevant experience. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is mandatory, with a Class 3 License considered an asset.
