We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Electrician to join our Facilities Services department to perform electrical work at the journeyperson level across the district's 53 facilities. Major Duties And Responsibilities Installing, upgrading, repairing, and testing electrical components such as lights, circuit breakers, fans and motors, and systems such as power distribution, security, emergency lighting, direct digital control, and fibre optics to ensure safe efficient operation. Responding to electrical emergencies throughout the district facilities. Develops manual plans, sketches, and drawings for the purpose of job layouts, permit applications, and estimating time and materials required to complete the work. Provides technical advice and information to District staff as required. Operating a district vehicle and maintaining the vehicle's electrical equipment and materials inventory as necessary. Performs other job-related duties of comparable importance, difficulty and responsibility as required. Required Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalent plus a BC or Interprovincial Certificate of Apprenticeship in Electrical or equivalent apprenticeship training and a BC or Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification in Electrical (T.Q.); Two (2) years' experience at a Journeyperson level in commercial or institutional service work, including maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial equipment. Thorough knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures, and equipment applicable to the electrical trade. Ability to organize workload, work under periodic pressure and complete assignments with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License. This is a unionized position that offers a 40-hour work week with an hourly wage rate of $40.75 plus a liberal benefit package including Municipal Pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits. Requirements

Requires a Grade 12 diploma, a BC or Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification (TQ/Red Seal), and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License. Candidates must have at least two years of journeyperson experience in commercial or institutional service work.
