Job summary

SECONDARY TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION The Richmond School District is seeking a full-time Technology Education teacher. This position consists of seven (7) blocks of Technology Education and will include Woodwork 9-12, Metalwork 9-12, Computer Assisted Drawing and Design as well as the Grade 8 Tech Ed wheel). Applicants are expected to work in a collaborative environment and to have demonstrated such ability. Flexibility and the ability to adapt practice, strategies and/or curriculum to respond to students' needs is essential. The successful candidate for this position must have current academic and professional preparation as well as teaching experience in technology education at the secondary grade levels. In all classes there will be a wide range of student levels and ages, and the ability to teach all groups using differentiated instruction and project-based learning will be essential. This assignment is wide-ranging and will require a teacher who can adapt curriculum to help students with varying experience and skill levels meet with success. The students in all classes at McRoberts Secondary will range from those who are highly skilled in a curricular area to those with limited language abilities, exposure, and awareness. A demonstrated ability to engage with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs and styles is required. Recent work experience must reflect a commitment to collaboration and teamwork and a willingness to work closely with other colleagues in a professional and supportive environment. McRoberts Secondary is a dual track English/French Immersion school.
