Job description RWC is a well-established service company with over 30 years in the crane industry. Specializing in manufacturing and service of overhead cranes hoists and material handling equipment. We also supply parts for all the major hoist suppliers. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled individual for the position of Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 5 years+ experience within the overhead crane repair field with a focus on the manufacture, installation, modification, service and inspection of electrical control systems on a variety of overhead cranes, hoists and other material handling equipment. While the position is largely an electrical role, a good understanding of mechanics is an essential requirement, as once on site you will need to call upon your skill set to solve problems which can be electrical or mechanical. Responsibilities · Perform crane inspections, repairs, installations and respond to breakdown calls. · Perform routine maintenance work on hoists and other lifting devices, electrical, electronic controls, electrification systems and pneumatic systems. · Flexible approach to after hour service, scheduled overtime, site work and occasional travel. · Inspect all types of hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls and pullers. · Complete daily paperwork accurately and completely, including inspection and service reports. · Excellent individual and teamwork skills. · Maintain work area, equipment and tools in a clean and organized manner. Qualifications · Valid Industrial Electrician Certification. · Proven track record in a similar role. · Proficiency in the interpretation of schematic diagrams and blueprints. · Experience with lifting equipment, including their control systems and functionality. · Knowledge of inverters, radio control electrical control panels. · Must be comfortable working at elevated heights in a sometimes physically demanding and noisy environment. · Good communication, problem solving and decision-making skills. · Proficient in English and must hold a valid driver’s license in Ontario. · Welding experience an asset.
