Job summary

Profile: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis is a crucial management team member responsible for driving financial clarity, discipline, and performance across Rio2. This role leads the organization's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, supporting strategic decision-making through advanced financial modelling, comprehensive variance analysis, and insightful management commentary. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting Own the Corporate Model: Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly and rolling twelve-month forecasting processes, developing and maintaining the Company’s Consolidated Corporate Model. Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with corporate finance, accounting, mine planning, and the Fenix Gold and Condestable finance teams to integrate actuals into rolling forecasts covering production, sales, operating costs, capital investments, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows. Strategic Sensitivity Analysis: Direct comprehensive financial modelling to evaluate projected cash flows, mining production profiles, and key commodity/input cost drivers, proactively mitigating risks and prioritizing capital expenditures. Reporting & Operational Support Management Reporting: Prepare detailed budget-to-actual variance reporting, providing clear, actionable commentary on key drivers, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities. Board Reporting: Assist in the development and distribution of a monthly “Board Pack” to be distributed to the Board of Directors of Rio2 with key metrics. Public Disclosure Support: Partner with the corporate financial reporting team to prepare the quarterly MD&A, analyzing and explaining mine operational results and capital spend. Cash Flow Management: Maintain the weekly cash and accounts payable forecasts, staying in constant communication with mine operations and construction teams to assess available cash resources at any given time. Systems Optimization & Continuous Improvement SAP Environment Leadership: Champion the continuous improvement of planning and budgeting capabilities leveraging SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud. Process Automation: Utilize data analytics tools and financial systems to automate workflows, streamline data aggregation, and enhance the overall accuracy and efficiency of the FP&A function. Working location · 100% remote from home office, trips to the downtown Vancouver business district may be occasionally required (approximately 1 time a month for meetings with coworkers, auditors, AGM, etc.). · Possible quarterly travel to Lima, Peru and/or Copiapó and Santiago, Chile · Reasonable home office expenses reimbursed (cellular phone, printing supplies, etc.) Benefits: · Reasonable professional development expenses reimbursed · 4 week’s vacation annually · Stock options awarded at board of directors’ discretion · Canada Life benefits (no waiting period) · $130k – 150k annual salary, depending on experience · Bonus awarded at Company’s discretion Qualifications: · Canadian CPA or CFA designation · 5+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and complex cost reporting. · Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools. · Excellent organizational and communication skills. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Public company reporting experience, preferably in mining. · Spanish language skills (or a willingness to take lessons) · Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud or other SAP analytics tools is a plus.
