Robert Half has been retained by a respected architecture firm to identify an experienced Controller to oversee the firm's accounting function during an exciting period of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role for a finance professional who wants ownership over financial operations and the chance to lead a new ERP/project accounting system implementation from the ground up. Company name will be shared with qualified candidates as the process progresses. What You'll Do Own month-end/year-end close, GL, AP/AR, billing, and project-based (job cost) accounting Lead or play a key role in the firm's ERP implementation — system selection support, data migration, configuration, and staff training Prepare financial statements, WIP reports, cash flow forecasts, and project profitability analysis Oversee payroll, budgeting, and annual forecasting in partnership with firm leadership Strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting workflows using the new system Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with project managers on budgets and billing What You'll Bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility Proven experience with an ERP or accounting system implementation (selection, configuration, migration, and/or training) — required Strong knowledge of GAAP and project-based/job-cost accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Advanced Excel skills and comfort working cross-functionally with non-finance teams Nice to Have Experience in architecture, engineering, or professional services (A/E/C industry) Familiarity with platforms like Deltek Vantagepoint, BQE Core, Ajera, or Unanet CPA license or active progress toward certification

Requirements
