Job summary

We are supporting a highly reputable law firm in their search for a Wills & Estates Legal Assistant. They are based in Vancouver and would be looking for this individual to be in office. This firm has an excellent reputation and is frequently recognized in Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers and Lexpert for their high-net-worth private wealth and tax law groups. About The Role: My client is hiring for a talented Wills & Estates Legal Assistant to join their Trusts, Estates & Estate Planning Group to work closely with their lawyers. Key Responsibilities: Draft, proofread and format Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements and Trust documents. Assist with estate administration, including gathering estate information, communicating with beneficiaries and coordinating with financial institutions and other professionals. Conduct corporate and land title searches and assist with gathering information required for estate planning and administration. Manage client intake, run conflict searches, open and close files. Manage calendars and schedule appointments using Outlook and various planning tools. Complete monthly reconciliations of expenses and billing for assigned lawyers. Qualifications & Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in Wills & Estates, Trusts, Tax or Private Client Services. Strong understanding of BC estate planning and administration processes. Excellent document production and formatting skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines. Comfortable working with high-net-worth clients and complex, confidential matters. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, professional and able to anticipate lawyers' needs. Experience with BC Online, LTSA, probate processes and legal practice management systems. Compensation and Perks: Competitive base salary.
